    Short-term parking

The two most convenient options are the Reserved Covered Parking and Daily/Hourly Garage. If you want your car to be protected from the elements, this the only on-site parking garage where it’s possible and the closest to the terminal. Located on Level 1 you are right in front of the terminal building so there’s no need for shuttle buses. When looking for the parking lot just follow the red signs. To guarantee your parking space you can opt for Reserved Covered Parking, where you book in advance and pay when you leave.

There is also the Preferred Parking Lot, which provides outdoor parking for shorter trips. You can walk the short distance to the terminal or hop on one of the free shuttle services that runs 24 hours a day, seven days week. To locate the parking lot follow the green signs.

    Long-term parking

The Long-Term Parking Lot and the Economy Parking Lot both offer long-term parking for visitors to Buffalo Airport. The Long Term Parking Lot is on-site next to the terminal building with a 24 hour shuttle service operating daily. An alternative, more economic long-term solution, is the Economy Parking Lot, located off-site just a few minutes ride on the free shuttle bus. Follow the orange signs for the Long Term Parking Lot and the blue signs to reach the Economy Parking Lot.

The on-site car parks are located at 4200 Genesee Street, Buffalo, NY 14225 and the Economy Parking Lot is at 95 Holtz Road, Buffalo, NY 14225. Parking information can also be received on BUF airport’s radio, channel at 1580 AM, and you can tune in up to three miles before you arrive to get an update on the parking situation.

    Picking up passengers

If you are waiting to collect a passenger from Buffalo Niagara Airport, head to the Economy Parking Lot on Holtz Road as it is also the location of the Cell Phone Lot. Follow the purple signs and they will take you to the waiting area, just one mile (one and a half kilometers) from the airport. History of Buffalo Niagara Airport

Built in 1926 Buffalo Niagara International Airport, or Buffalo Municipal Airport as it was then known, is one of the USA’s oldest public airports. It saw passenger travel commence in 1927 and demand increase through the following decades. The terminal building, as we now know it, was constructed in 1997 at a cost of $56 million and marked the end of a multiple terminal airport. The structure was designed to reflect the importance of aviation in the region and, seen from above, the 27,000 square feet of glass looks like a giant aircraft ready for take off.

BUF is due to undergo further renovation and expansion as part of the airport’s sustainable master plan, which will see a new walkway, more curbside space and a doubling of the capacity to handle baggage by 2019.
