YEG is the largest major airport by total land area and the fifth-busiest by aircraft movements and passenger traffic in Canada.
Edmonton International Airport is located 16 miles (26 kilometers) south west of downtown Edmonton in Leduc County on Alberta Provincial Highway No. 2, opposite the city of Leduc. An expansion project carried out in 2013 increased the capacity of the terminal and included improvements to the passenger experience with the addition of travellators, lounges and retail outlets. The number of gates available for use by aircraft was also increased, giving YEG the capacity to cope with the high levels of traffic passing through each year.
Edmonton International Airport has an abundance of useful services inside the terminal building to help make your journey a straightforward and enjoyable one. The array of dining facilities and shops, along with useful amenities such as a coat check, baggage storage and luggage wrap, are all in place to help your trip run smoothly.
